Human knowledge is incremental in nature, it evolves continuously over time. Lots of times we don’t even realize that we are taking steps to actually accomplish far greater stuff than our conditioned minds can then think of.

The technological innovation that happened during the 2nd World War, led humans to moon within next 25 years. When Wright brothers were flying their first planes, they would have never thought about spaceships and Mars rowers etc.

We are taking giant strides to reach other planets, we took it the very first day human species started moving out from its original habitat and we are taking even bigger strides now with every small invention or discovery that we make. Hence, even if the Proxima – B planet in the Proxima Centaury system looks too far away, in another hundred or thousand years it will not be. Human space program would have evolved to such an extent that traveling to close reaches within our galaxy will be a reality, we might have to tweak a lot of stuff but then didn’t we do it when we built steam ships instead of ship with sails or log ships?

We are lucky to progress as a species rather than individually except for few drawbacks which I hope will be straightened out in near future and once that is done, we humans are destined to spread across the Universe and every small step that we are taking now will incrementally help us in achieving it!
